The Starry Night offers views of the white water and sandy beaches only 200 yards away at the Roads End State Park. This state park features a nearly hidden cove just north of Lincoln City with space for strolling, views of rocky islands, fascinating tidepools, and access to the headland. With smaller crowds and less wind compared to beaches in the center of town, this is truly a hidden gem in the Lincoln City area. Just make sure to head back from the lowest cove area before the end of low tide so you don’t get stuck for a few hours! The rustic and concealed nature of Roads End is all part of this beach’s charm, though.

A Bed for Every Beach Lover – and Much More

This expansive coastal estate offers much more than easy access to the beach. As many as three cars can park at the property and even the entrance and front door are inviting for guests upon arrival. From there, visitors walk into the main floor featuring a living room and fully stocked, gourmet kitchen with a dining table that seats 10 in addition to a pub table with two chairs and three stools at the kitchen island. The upper level features four stunning bedrooms including one king bedroom with a full bathroom and jetted tub, another king bedroom with a shower in the bathroom, a queen bedroom with a shower in the bathroom, and an additional suite with three twin bunks. A total of four bathrooms are found on the upper level, as well as a washer and dryer. A convenient half bath is found downstairs near the living room that features a gas fireplace and sleeper sofa for additional guests. But that’s not all. Wi-Fi is available throughout and the living room is equipped with multiple televisions featuring HDTV and a DVD player, while the game room features air hockey, ping pong, and a pool table. The deck featuring a hot tub with ocean views is like the icing on the cake.

Agates: Semiprecious Stones from the Sea

Semiprecious stones include such natural wonders such as amber, aquamarine, emerald, jade, onyx, opal, pearl, topaz, turquoise, and many others. While most semiprecious stones are formed on land, others – such as pearls – are formed in the sea. Agates are unique because they are formed on land within holes inside volcanic rocks (similar to moganite and quartz), but because they form near the sea, they are first released into the water from nearby crumbling rocks. Then it’s only a matter of time until they wash up onto the shores of Oregon and Northern California. While most agates aren’t worth a whole lot of money, they are stunning to look at and can be used to make unique pieces of jewelry and other beautiful creations. It’s also just a whole lot of fun to hunt for them!

Not All Beaches Are Equal for Agate Hunters

Lincoln City has long been known as one of the best places on the Oregon Coast to hunt for agates, coral, and jasper. Even the experts at Oregon State University agree. With lodging options ranging from cozy beach condo rentals to vacation homes that sleep 16 people, your whole crew will also be accommodated in Lincoln City. If you’re looking to visit a few areas in your search for agates, Lincoln City is also a great place to start. Your best bet is to head south and stop at Beverly Beach and Moolack Beach (which are also known for fossilized mollusk and clamshells) before continuing on to Depoe Bay and Newport. Depoe Bay is a particularly good place for a day trip, as it is also known as the “Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast.” But you don’t need to leave Lincoln City and its 7½ miles of pristine beaches to see all sorts of sea creatures and find all sorts of sea treasures that have washed ashore. You could spend days just exploring this particular stretch of coastline. Lincoln City’s intertidal zones, where tide pools thrive, are also particularly wondrous around Roads End State Park in the north side of town. June Brings Good News for Oregon Beachgoers

The beaches officially reopened in Lincoln City in May and lodging was able to resume as of June 1, making it possible for visitors to return to our vacation homes and beach condo rentals. Lincoln City not only saw beaches reopen during this phase, but many parks and recreation areas reopened as well. Restaurants, bars, and retail outlets are also able to welcome diners, drinkers, and shoppers once again with new guidelines in place. The reopening guidelines for such businesses include spacing tables 6 feet apart, limiting the number of people inside at a time, and requiring employees to wear face masks. These added precautions should ensure a safe, healthy, and fun summer for locals and visitors alike on the Oregon coast.

New Lodging Protocols to Ensure Your Health & Safety

New sanitation and social distancing protocols were put in place when lodging and other businesses were allowed to reopen in June, and we are committed to meeting and exceeding these guidelines. Rooms are to be left empty for 24 hours between visitors, and vacation rentals are to be meticulously cleaned and sanitized before a new guest arrives. The cleaning staff is wearing masks and gloves, sanitizing all surfaces with CDC/ EPA approved disinfectants, washing linens with approved disinfectants at recommended temperatures, and replacing all unused linen and terry before a new guest arrives. We are also offering remote check-in to encourage social distancing. Your health and safety are our priority.

Winterfest Siletz: River of Dreams

The famous Siletz Bay Music Festival takes place in Lincoln City every summer and the organizers of this event have expanded to form a nonprofit that puts on musical events throughout the year to fund the big summer festival.
