Finish Summer Strong on the Oregon Coast

Summer may be almost over, but with plenty of sun and beach vacation rentals, Lincoln City is still a vacation wonderland for those looking to get away. The weather forecast is pleasant with temperatures in the 70s for at least the next couple of weeks and kids are going back to school. There are still plenty of activities for grownups to enjoy during the week, though, and fun for all ages on the weekends. It might just be the perfect time to book one of A1’s fabulous beach house rentals. Lincoln City, Oregon is offering up a variety of options to finish summer strong and enjoy a little time away before the fall.

Book any open dates in August 2019 and save $125 per night at Pirates Lookout. A vintage Cape Cod home on the ocean, it offers a 180 degree view! Wifi, hot tub included.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

Enjoying local food and drink is one of the top reasons why visitors flock to our summer homes and beach condo rentals. Lincoln City offers a virtual cornucopia of regional produce to enjoy, from sumptuous seafood to beer and wine to seasonal fruit and vegetables. There are many ways to enjoy this bounty, starting with the city’s wonderful outdoor Farmer’s Market that runs nearly every Sunday from 9 AM – 3 PM at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. If you want a more hands-on experience, you may prefer a demonstration followed by a meal at the Culinary Center in Lincoln City. August 17’s Slow and Smoky Demo Class, for example, features a menu of cornbread, Panzanella salad, smoked beef brisket, two different BBQ rubs, peach bourbon BBQ sauce, sweet & spicy BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and strawberry shortcake on homemade biscuits. Or, perhaps you might prefer focusing on the libations with a side of scandal at Lincoln City’s Gin & Sin Tour on Aug 23 starting at 8 PM, where you’ll visit three watering holes (with a designated driver) to meet the proprietors and hear some sinful stories form the city’s past while enjoying perfectly paired cocktails.

Summer Morning Matinees

Lincoln City’s Bijou Theater is known for its Saturday Morning Matinees, where classic films are screened in a classic theater for a low price every Saturday morning. During the summer months, this weekly event changes to the Summer Morning Matinee with additional dates to suit summer vacationers while school’s out. This summer season is wrapping up with The Lost Boys (1987) on August 17 at 11 AM & 10 PM and August 19 & 20 at 11 AM; The Secret of Nimh (1982) on August 24, 26 & 29 at 11 AM; and Annie (1982) on August 31 and September 2 at 11 AM. All shows are only $3.

Get to Know the Great Outdoors

If you’re in Lincoln City, you simply have to go to the beach. It’s what the city’s known for. If you want to get to know the Great Outdoors and learn more about the local culture, though, you’ll want to dig a little bit deeper. For instance, Finders Keepers on the Beach is a part of the Lincoln City culture where “float fairies” hide colorful glass orbs along the beach during designated times in a nod to the glass floats that once washed ashore from Japanese fishing ships. Now visitors have a chance to find their own glass float made by local artisans throughout the year. From now until October 12, you’ll have your chance to search above the high tide line during daylight hours for your very own float that you can register for a Certificate of Authenticity. Informative clinics, such as the upcoming free Crabbing Clinic on August 28 at the SW 51st Street Pavilion at 3:30 PM, are also a great way to get to know the outdoors in this area. The August 28 clinic will start with a brief orientation followed by crabbing on Siletz Bay. Now, the question is, what are you waiting for? Book your beach house rentals today and enjoy your stay in Lincoln City, Oregon.
