Just consider two of A1 Beach Rentals’ finest properties that might be perfect for your autumn getaway, one that is perfect for couples and is perfect for groups of up to 10 people:

The Anchor

This cozy spot on SW Anchor Ave is one of our most popular beach condo rentals for couples. The Anchor is technically the master suite to a larger property known as The Submarine, but it is completely private with its own entrance and nobody on either side of you, above you, or below you. After walking in from the second-floor entrance just off the street, one of the first things you’ll notice is the deck overlooking the beach. Draw the curtains and see the deck with its fabulous view of the ocean through sliding glass doors. You’ll also find this property’s best feature on the deck: a glass-enclosed private hot tub overlooking the beach and ocean. The Anchor also comes with a kitchenette, sofa, and fireplace. The beach is also just a short stroll away, where you’ll find plenty of space to walk on the sand and abundant tide pools to explore during low tide. This stretch of beach is also home to the famous Nelscott wave, which is only ¼-mile offshore and famed for annual surf competitions such as the Nelscott Reef Big Wave Classic that takes place between the start of October and the end of March.

The Porthole

The Porthole is one of our finest beach vacation rentals for larger groups, as it can accommodate as many as 10 people including guests and visitors. This completely furnished home a quiet, dead-end road that features an ocean view and a hot tub. As many as 10 people can sleep on three queen beds and four twin beds, and guests with mobility issues will appreciate that there are no stairs into the house from the parking like some other beachfront properties. You can cook gourmet meals in the fully stocked kitchen and adjoining dining area, which opens up to a private patio that is full of surprises. Open the doors and find a hot tub, picnic table, and charming yard all with stunning views of the ocean. There are more wonderful views from the picture windows in the living room, where you’ll also find a floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace, vaulted ceiling, open beams, and a big-screen TV to keep everyone entertained. There are hardwood floors throughout the home and an additional wrap-around deck up top that is perfect for lounging on Adirondack chairs while enjoying ocean views, sunsets, or whale watching.

Top Eight Hiking Trails in and Around Lincoln City, Oregon

The team at A1 Beach Rentals looks forward to welcoming you to our beach house rentals again once we’re on the other side of this. The truth is, we all need a few things to look forward to in the not-so-distant future. Hiking and beachcombing on the Oregon Coast are two great activities to look forward to because they are out in the open air where you can still socially distance while enjoying nature. Beaches and hiking trails throughout the Central Oregon Coast might be closed right now, but once they are reopened, we can all look forward to a long walk in a beautiful setting. In addition to the 7½ miles of pristine coastline (which is within walking distance from most of our beach condo rentals and vacation homes), there are also numerous hiking trails in and around Lincoln City, Oregon. Here are eight of the top hiking destinations in and around Lincoln City that are worth exploring once the trails reopen:

Dear Honored Guests –
We look forward to being on the other side of this and hosting you at our Oregon beach homes or condos!

1. Agnes Creek Open Space Loop. This moderately easy, 1.7-mile trail takes less than an hour to complete at a leisurely pace. The loop stretches through a serene forest setting and allows dogs as long as they are on a leash.

2. Alder Island Nature Trail. You can find this trail right within Lincoln City. The easy, 0.9-mile trail winds past Siletz Bay and can be completed in about 20 minutes plus the time it talks to walk from one of our beach vacation rentals. Oregon walkers of all ability levels can enjoy this trail.

3. Cutler Wetlands Open Space Loop. The Cuter Wetlands Open Space features an easy, breezy 0.6-mile trail that is great for bird-watching or just enjoying a quick walk through nature in a forest setting. The walk can be completed in approximately 15 minutes.

4. Devils Lake Boardwalk Trail. Mere minutes from downtown Lincoln City, you can find yourself in the Devil’s Lake State Recreation Area and/or Devil’s Lake State Park. The recreation area is where you’ll find the campgrounds with access to the lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and waterskiing. You can also take a lovely, 10-minute walk along the boardwalk with nature and water on either side of you. Just remember to watch out for the wildlife sharing this space with you!

5. Drift Creek Falls Trail. If you’re looking for a somewhat longer trail once the parks reopen, the Drift Creek Falls Trail in Siuslaw National Forest might be an ideal option for you. This 2.6-mile walk can be completed in about an hour and 20 minutes at a fairly leisurely pace. Just make sure to slow down enough to enjoy the beauty of this national forest!

6. God’s Thumb (via The Knoll). More experienced hikers may prefer the God’s Thumb trail, which is also located in Siuslaw National Forest with parking at Roads End State Recreation Site. The 4.4-mile, out-and-back walk is considered moderate in difficulty due to a steep climb at the end, but many people do take their children, and dogs are allowed on leashes. It is important to be cautious on this trail, as slips and falls have occurred in the past.

7. Kirtsis Park Walk. This is a great trail if you’re looking for an easy, forest park walk that starts right at the edge of Lincoln City. The 1.6-mile, out-and-back walk takes you through a lush, green setting and is just long enough to feel like you’ve got a good bit of exercise in.

8. Spyglass Ridge Open Space. Another relatively easy but absolutely stunning walk near Lincoln City is the Spyglass Ridge Open Space. Most of the 1.3-mile trail takes you through a forested setting, but if you take your time and keep exploring, you will find yourself with a stunning view of the ocean. The walk can be completed in less than 45 minutes and dogs are allowed on leashes. Our beach house rentals will be waiting for you once all the parks and other facilities reopen. You can rest assured that you will find an exceedingly clean, sterile, cozy, and comfortable place to enjoy the Central Oregon Coast upon arrival. We look forward to welcoming you to our home-away-from-home in Lincoln City again soon!

Cascade Head also boasts a treasure chest of wildflowers and wildlife along two different Nature Conservancy trails, and the Cutler City Nature trail offers a nice one-mile trail with lovely views of wetlands and woods.

  • Kite-Flying. Lincoln City really is famous for many things, and that includes the flying of kites. Every year locals and visitors alike partake in the Annual Fall Kite Festival and Annual Summer Kite Festival at Lincoln City’s D River Beach Wayside. Don’t worry if you’re not in town for these stunning displays of fanciful kites; it’s always a good time to bring your kite or buy a new one to fly on the coast here. • Seafood Sampling. The Pacific Northwest is also known for fresh seafood, and local spots such as Mo’s Restaurant overlooking Siletz Bay offer an excellent sampling of the sea’s bounty with beautiful views of the ocean while you dine. From clam chowder and fresh oysters to an array of creative dishes using crab, cod, shrimp, and more, you might find it hard to sample it all. The Pacific Northwest is known for using a variety of local produce in exceedingly creative ways, though, so even if you’re not into seafood you’re sure to find plenty of delicious things to eat.

  • Shopping. Many out-of-state visitors flock to Oregon for the tax-free shopping, and Lincoln City is an excellent place to score some bargains or one-of-a-kind finds. There are also countless local artisans, gift stores, craft shops, and other unique vendors to find exceptional items that you won’t find anywhere else.

Whatever time of year you next find yourself in Lincoln City, there will always be plenty to do. The team at A1 Beach Rentals also wants to remind you that we’re going the extra distance in cleaning our rental homes, so when the beaches do reopen, you can rest assured that everything from the large surfaces and appliances to the small doorknobs and light switches will be sanitized. Stay safe and remember that we’ll be here when it’s safe to visit once again.

Finish Summer Strong on the Oregon Coast

Summer may be almost over, but with plenty of sun and beach vacation rentals, Lincoln City is still a vacation wonderland for those looking to get away. The weather forecast is pleasant with temperatures in the 70s for at least the next couple of weeks and kids are going back to school. There are still plenty of activities for grownups to enjoy during the week, though, and fun for all ages on the weekends. It might just be the perfect time to book one of A1’s fabulous beach house rentals. Lincoln City, Oregon is offering up a variety of options to finish summer strong and enjoy a little time away before the fall.

Book any open dates in August 2019 and save $125 per night at Pirates Lookout. A vintage Cape Cod home on the ocean, it offers a 180 degree view! Wifi, hot tub included.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

Enjoying local food and drink is one of the top reasons why visitors flock to our summer homes and beach condo rentals. Lincoln City offers a virtual cornucopia of regional produce to enjoy, from sumptuous seafood to beer and wine to seasonal fruit and vegetables. There are many ways to enjoy this bounty, starting with the city’s wonderful outdoor Farmer’s Market that runs nearly every Sunday from 9 AM – 3 PM at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. If you want a more hands-on experience, you may prefer a demonstration followed by a meal at the Culinary Center in Lincoln City. August 17’s Slow and Smoky Demo Class, for example, features a menu of cornbread, Panzanella salad, smoked beef brisket, two different BBQ rubs, peach bourbon BBQ sauce, sweet & spicy BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and strawberry shortcake on homemade biscuits. Or, perhaps you might prefer focusing on the libations with a side of scandal at Lincoln City’s Gin & Sin Tour on Aug 23 starting at 8 PM, where you’ll visit three watering holes (with a designated driver) to meet the proprietors and hear some sinful stories form the city’s past while enjoying perfectly paired cocktails.

Summer Morning Matinees

Lincoln City’s Bijou Theater is known for its Saturday Morning Matinees, where classic films are screened in a classic theater for a low price every Saturday morning. During the summer months, this weekly event changes to the Summer Morning Matinee with additional dates to suit summer vacationers while school’s out. This summer season is wrapping up with The Lost Boys (1987) on August 17 at 11 AM & 10 PM and August 19 & 20 at 11 AM; The Secret of Nimh (1982) on August 24, 26 & 29 at 11 AM; and Annie (1982) on August 31 and September 2 at 11 AM. All shows are only $3.

Get to Know the Great Outdoors

If you’re in Lincoln City, you simply have to go to the beach. It’s what the city’s known for. If you want to get to know the Great Outdoors and learn more about the local culture, though, you’ll want to dig a little bit deeper. For instance, Finders Keepers on the Beach is a part of the Lincoln City culture where “float fairies” hide colorful glass orbs along the beach during designated times in a nod to the glass floats that once washed ashore from Japanese fishing ships. Now visitors have a chance to find their own glass float made by local artisans throughout the year. From now until October 12, you’ll have your chance to search above the high tide line during daylight hours for your very own float that you can register for a Certificate of Authenticity. Informative clinics, such as the upcoming free Crabbing Clinic on August 28 at the SW 51st Street Pavilion at 3:30 PM, are also a great way to get to know the outdoors in this area. The August 28 clinic will start with a brief orientation followed by crabbing on Siletz Bay. Now, the question is, what are you waiting for? Book your beach house rentals today and enjoy your stay in Lincoln City, Oregon.
