Music, Movies, and More to do in Lincoln City, Oregon

With a host of cultural events and fabulous beach house rentals, Lincoln City, Oregon is an ideal destination during the summer months. Lincoln City is well-known for its 7½ miles of pristine beaches, of course, but there is much more to this area than fun in the sun, sand, and surf. Once you’ve booked your beach vacation rentals, Lincoln City will be yours to explore with music, movies, theatre, art, culture, and so much more to delight your senses. Here are a few of the local venues where you are likely to find something to tickle your fancy this summer:

Chinook Winds Casino Resort

The Chinook Winds Casino is always a great destination to visit in Lincoln City with a wide range of gaming options and multiple restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. Chinook’s Seafood Grill is hosting a variety of music acts this summer, for example, including Cool Breeze Band on July 19-20 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight and The Perry Gerber Band on July 26-27 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. The Chinook Winds Casino Resort will also be hosting The Guess Who on July 26-27 at 8:00 p.m. with presale tickets for $20-$35. Check their events calendar and you’ll see there’s always something on!

Lincoln City Cultural Center

The Lincoln City Cultural Center is another great venue for local entertainment on the Central Oregon Coast. This month the cultural center is hosting the vaudevillian, accordion-playing, cowboy Sourdough Slim on July 19 at 7 p.m. and folk musicians Donnie Macdonald of Scotland and James Keigher of Ireland – known collectively as Men of Worth – on July 24 from 7-9 p.m.

Salishan’s Summer Concert Series

The Salishan Spa Golf Resort is hosting a summer concert series with new performers every week. On July 20 you can catch the fun-loving sounds of The Junebugs, and on July 27 you can enjoy Kalimba (The Spirit of Earth, Wind, and Fire). All summer concert series shows start at 7 p.m. and are free for all ages. Even if you’re not going to a show, Salishan is always a great place to play a round of golf, indulge in a spa treatment, eat a delicious meal, or meet for a sumptuous cocktail or glass of wine.

Summer Morning Matinees at the Bijou Theater

The Bijou Theater is a favorite among locals and a real treat for visitors looking for an authentic cinema experience. The Summer Morning Matinees are a longstanding tradition that returns every Saturday at 11 a.m. throughout the season, so if you’re visiting Lincoln City over a weekend you have a great opportunity catch a classic flick on the big screen. This summer, the theater is even adding extra weekday screenings, so you won’t have to miss out if your schedule conflicts. Upcoming screenings include the 1986 film Castle in the Sky on July 20, 22 and 25 and the 1988 film The Land Before Time on July 27 & 29 and August 1.

More Events Around Town

There are plenty of other upcoming events all over Lincoln City at a wide range of bars, clubs, restaurants, and many other venues as summer rolls on. For example, Oregon State University’s After Dark Dance Team will be performing everything from the Lindy to Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. on July 24 at Driftwood Library if you’re looking for something really lively and unique. Black Squid Beer House is also celebrating its two-year anniversary July 25-27 with a special edition of Thursday Trivia, a Buoy Beer Company tap takeover and Black Squid IPA tapping on Friday, and Retroactive Gamma Rays performing live on Saturday night.
