Family Fun with the North Pole Express

The North Pole Express has set up shop at Chinook Winds Play Palace this December. For $17.95 per person, you can take a magical journey to the North Pole with singing, cookies, hot cocoa, visits with Santa Claus, and all sorts of fun for the little ones. There will be a family night on Friday, December 20 from 5:45 PM to 8:00 PM and a final matinee (for children ages 3-11 only) on Saturday, December 21 from 12:45 PM to 3:00 PM.

Winter Solstice Celebrations

The winter solstice takes place this December 21, and the Central Oregon Coast is a beautiful place to enjoy Mother Nature as the season turns. To mark the occasion, Lincoln City’s Driftwood Public Library will be holding a winter solstice celebration on Friday, December 20 with poetry, music, and yummy cookies starting at 6:30 PM. Marci’s Bar & Bistro on Northwest Highway 101 will also be holding a formal winter solstice soiree on Saturday, December 21 at 6:00 PM. Book your reservations in advance if you want to enjoy a unique storytelling event along with your three-course dinner, which will be followed by music and dancing.

Celebrate Christmas Eve with Song

This Christmas Eve, the Lincoln City Cultural Center will host Winter Glow: A Christmas Eve Celebration Song sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Lincoln City. The evening of music will begin at 6:30 PM with the band Cross Generation, followed by the mother-daughter duo Strawberry Charlotte and a bells performance by The Beard Family Bells. There will be plenty of opportunities for the crowd to join in as well.
