Dark & Stormy Nights at Driftwood Public Library

“It Was a Dark and Stormy Night,” as the saying goes. This is also the theme of Driftwood Public Library’s series of autumn author events that return each year as the days get shorter and darker. A new author will read and share their work every Thursday afternoon in October starting at 4 PM at 801 Southwest Highway 101. Author Dana Haynes will be the first presenter on October 3, Christa Yelich-Koth will be the second presenter on October 10, Valerie Davisson will be the third presenter on October 17, and Alexandra Mason will be the fourth presenter on October 24. The library has been bringing Pacific Northwest mystery writers to the Central Oregon Coast with this special series of readings since the late Marcy Taylor started the tradition in 2002. There is no charge for any of these “mysterious” literary events.

Finders Keepers Kickoff Weekend

Lincoln City is known for its Finders Keepers on the Beach, where glass floats are hidden by “float fairies” for members of the public to find and take home. There will be an additional 100 glass floats hidden around the beach on October 12 and 13 to celebrate the return of Finders Keepers for its 20th anniversary season.
