Sometimes You Just Want Takeout at your Beach Vacation Rentals

We get it: there are times when you’re on vacation when you don’t want to go out to dinner, no matter how good the restaurants are. The weather may not be pleasant, or you may just want to spend more time with family and friends (or alone!) at your beach home rentals! Lincoln City, Oregon has you covered on that score, as well.

We’ve written about the great dining options near Oregon vacation rentals — Lincoln City, Oregon has its fair share of them. But what about great takeout options? Great restaurants don’t always mean great takeout options.

Well if you’re staying at beach vacation rentals near Lincoln City, Oregon, you’re in luck.

We’d like to share with you some of the great takeout options nearby when you’re staying at Oregon beach rentals.

The first we’ll mention is Tastebuds Bistro. Tastebuds offers a wide array of delicious breakfast options. For lunch and dinner they have an array burgers and enormous sandwiches, as well as scratch-made soups and generous salads. They’re easy to get to, and the price is right. Your tastebuds will thank you!

Another great takeout option is Best Thai. If you like Thai food, this one is Best! (Sorry, easy joke). Best Thai offers all of the great Thai food options you expect — fresh flavors, hearty curries, soups with flavors that just burst in your mouth. One reviewer called Best Thai, “Thai comfort food.” Give them a chance when you’re staying at Oregon vacation homes near Lincoln City, Oregon and you will not be disappointed!

A third option is The Grill 1646. From Thai comfort food to all-American comfort food. Burgers, hot dogs, gyros, wings, and subs. You won’t be left hungry! And with their takeout options you can order an adult beverage for pickup, like beer or a hard seltzer. Be sure to look through the list — you might find something you’ve never had before and really like!

Our fourth great takeout option is Gallucci’s Pizzeria. This isn’t just a pizza delivery or pickup place, it is a classic pizzeria — soda served in pitchers, an arcade room, the whole nine yards. Their takeout options are even more than you’d expect from such a place: all of the great pizza pie options you’re looking for, plus appetizers, sandwiches, pasta dishes, soups, and salads! Guaranteed satisfaction for everyone in the family! And who doesn’t love when the smell of a great pizza fills the air at your beach condo rentals?

Sandgate Oregon Beach Rental

There are lots of other options for takeout among the things to eat and things to do in Lincoln City, Oregon. So when you’re staying in one of our many beach rentals along the Oregon coast, try out some of the local cuisine. You’ll want to come back just to try another one!  Book your stay today!

Great Board Games for Family Vacations

Oregon Beach House Rentals

Sometimes when you’re out on vacation you just want to stay in, order takeout, and do something together. This can especially be true when you stay in comfortable, homey beach vacation rentals. Lincoln City, Oregon has many of them.

And even though there are so many amazing things to do in Lincoln City, Oregon, we understand the impulse to have “a night in.”

Or, if you had plans for an outdoor excursion, but the weather doesn’t quite cooperate, you’ll be glad you’re staying in one of the great beach home rentals near Lincoln City, Oregon.

And during those nights in, many families enjoy a good board game to pit wits, test strategies, inspire conversation, and just have a good time together. Here are some suggestions for board games that would be a hit during a comfortable evening in Oregon vacation rentals.

First is Ticket to Ride. This comes in two versions, one featuring a game map of the United States and the other a game map of Europe. Players take turns building railroads and completing routes between far-flung destinations. The game is for 2 to 5 players, and it gets more complex and difficult with more players. But it is fast-paced, and groups can play multiple sessions in one evening. The drawback is this is a large-box game, so it would be better suited to those who drive to their Oregon coast beach house rentals.

Our second suggestion is Mille Bornes, which is a fairly old card game. Players draw cards and attempt to “travel” 1000 miles more quickly than their opponents. But opponents can cause havoc on the roadway or cause each other to run out of gas, or other calamity. This comes in a small enough box that it can be suitable for air travel, but since it is a game about driving, perhaps you should insist on making the breathtakingly beautiful drive to your beach condo rentals!

A third suggestion is Unexploded Cow. This is the most easily packed game among all of our suggestions, so it can travel with you no matter how you come to your Oregon beach vacation rentals. In Unexploded Cow you amass herds of mad cows and march them through the French countryside in search of unexploded ordnance from the First and Second World Wars. When one of your cows explodes, you get money. It’s a very fun game for groups of two to six, and each round goes only about 25 minutes.

Our fourth and final suggestion is Settlers of Catan. A global sensation when released, it pits settlers against each other to have the most dominant settlement on a deserted island. This game can be somewhat more cutthroat than the others, so it is a great one for families and friends who like some more intense competition over something that ultimately doesn’t matter — so it’s great for a “night in” at your cozy, homey beach home rentals. Lincoln City, Oregon has a lot to recommend it as a destination, and our many beach rentals are on that list!

So be sure to book your stay today!

Many very early residents of Lincoln City are buried in this historic cemetery — the land for it was donated by, of course, Mr. Bones. Lincoln City’s Coastal Air Quality Offers Guests a Place to Breathe

While the air quality throughout much of Oregon remains unhealthy, the team at A1 Beach Rentals is pleased to report breathable air in and around our beach house rentals. Lincoln City, Oregon is currently experiencing air quality considered “moderate” to “good” with the Air Quality Index (AQI) forecast predicting an AQI as low as 17 in the coming days. To put things in perspective, many localities throughout the state of Oregon have recently experienced air quality readings between 300-500 on the AQI scale and remain dangerously smokey. Thanks to the onshore flow returning to the coast, one of the best places to be in Oregon is one of A1’s beach vacation rentals. Lincoln City is truly offering local Oregonians a place to breathe.

Lincoln City Becomes the Place to Escape the Smoke

Many evacuees that came to Lincoln City to flee the fires in nearby towns including Otis and Rose Lodge have found that the air quality here is making it possible to rest, relax, and even enjoy some outdoor activities without discomfort or health concerns. There are still concerns about the Echo Mountain Complex Fires in Lincoln County, but firefighters have been able to maintain the fire line from spreading further and evacuation orders have either been lifted or downgraded throughout Lincoln City. It’s now possible for locals to go for walks, visit the beach, and enjoy local cuisine. Authorities are still encouraging non-locals to wait until the fires are contained to vacation in Lincoln City, but with weather cooling down and precipitation on the way, it’s safe to say visitors can once again book a stay here within the coming weeks.
