"This house was perfect for us! It does have alot if stairs which was fine for my spouse and kids but for my parents that are older it had a room at the normal level which that was perfect. The view of this house is spectacular! They have the deck well equipped. We were blessed with good weather so it made our stay that much better. It does have private access to the beach but it is alot of stairs so be prepared for a good work out. Overall we had a great stay! Would rent again."

That's exactly what it's like to stay in this lovely home. The views are spectacluar! The family all gathered on the deck and viewed the whales! "So nice to have 2 gathering spaces, a family room and a living room. Lots of space, each with a tv for separate viewings. Dining area in between which connects with openness. Downstairs is another ping pong play area with bed-s for the kids. Bathroom on each level. Cute country bedroom on main level. Our bonus was the upstairs, berth type bedrooms (reminded me of those I imagine being for the captain on an old ship) completely done in various bead board panels. Very cool !!
One can see or hear the ocean from everywhere. Big deck. 2 or 3 broken chairs (A-1 will fix) Nicely stocked kitchen. Everything working.
But, for me the best part were the tidepools. We found lots of collectible shells and lots of non collectible amazing living creatures.

"Beautiful home with all the amenities (and more) you would need for a few days or weeks on the Oregon Coast. This home offers gorgeous views of the ocean from a private deck. Or, relax in the hot tub after a fun day on the beach to relax those muscles.

Due to the property being on an elevated stretch of the beach, you will be required to take several steps down to the beach (not for the faint at heart). One note, is there is a ladder at the final portion of the stairs you will need to traverse to access the beach. This is due to a sea-wall protecting the hillside and properties above.

Once on the beach you will have access to miles coastline and several rock formations and tide pools right our in front of the homes property.

Bedrooms are nice with queen beds in most. The main living areas are separated with two sitting areas (living rooms) on either side of the home. This is great in case you have people in your party who prefer TV and others who prefer books.

Unless you are nervous, or consider stairs a nemesis, I consider this a fun place for all ages. "

"Overall, a great rental. Just be aware that the bedroom with the queen and two twin beds is in the basement with very little natural daylight. If we had known that, we wouldn't have booked. Would have also been nice to have soap in the showers. Only one dish towel in the kitchen for 5 we had to wash it a few times. And we had to use washclothes from the bathrooms for wiping things down. Internet worked well, very clean, and view of the ocean was fantastic. We would recommend to others, but warn them about the basement."

The other 3 bedrooms have some wonderful daylight with plenty of windows. The basement was finished in tile and wood with a nice large window that opens for a cool breeze. It's a good space for kids and hopefully "sleeping in". The other 1/2 of the basement is ping pong which is also a fun bonus after a day on the beach or time in the hot tub. "My daughters,grandkids and I had an absolutely amazing time at the Pirates Lookout. The house was everything we needed, plus more. The view and deck were superb. We had absolutely beautiful weather. The only shock was the beach access, having to climb down a ladder for the final few feet, proved a little challenging with a toddler. I would highly recommend this be disclosed in the description of the property rental information. We were able to make it work, with 2 adults present, to hand off my granddaughter, who is 1, both going down and going back up. Otherwise, the house is well equipped with everything to make our stay perfect. We will look forward to future stays here."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pirates Lookout! Absolutely stunning ocean views. Gorgeous sandy beaches with very few people. From the deck and epic windows we saw whales spoutIng! Tried our hand at crabbing on Siletz Bay, highly recommend! Kitchen was small, but adequate and well stocked. We cooked most meals on sight. Property management was friendly and responsive (we just had a chirping smoke detector.). Lots of steps to the beach, but it was worth every one! Perfect for our Covid sensitive family. Everything felt clean, comfortable and safe. No contact check in/out. The Lincoln City community seemed friendly, but sensitive to social distancing. The basement felt damp. It does need some upkeep in the game room and laundry. Still an excellent experience! Would return in a heartbeat."

"Everything was as described on line, and in the photos. From check in to check out, everything went smoothly. They made it really easy for a family who has only rented a few houses before ( but stayed in many bed and breakfast houses) We loved playing scrabble in front of the fireplace looking out at the ocean. Each day we were able to walk the beachfront and see interesting things. I'm 50 and out of shape but did just fine with the steps. There are seats that divide each flight so you can rest and take in one more view. The hot tub was wonderful/clean and hot. The kitchen was wonderful compared to others we've seen. It had everything you need. Teapot, airpopper, Large strainer, spices. We stayed in the middle level and upper level beds and they were all very comfortable. There were extra fluffy blankets stored if more were needed that we appreciated. The area was perfect, just a 2 hour drive from Portland which was lovely, and a great drive to Newport along the coast drive. It is only a few blocks or minutes from a nice grocery store, Goodwill, the chocolate frog candy, glass blowing ect.. The property was very cleaned and maintained. It was easy to do our clean ups at the end of our stay. The washer and dryer worked perfect, along with the dishwasher. Wish we could arrange another trip in the summer. "

"This was the second A1Rentals property we have stayed in, again we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful stay at Pirates Lookout. It provided everything we needed for three generations. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with pans, utensils and appliances, and everything was clean. The stairs to the beach are steep but even my 84 year old father in law made several trips down and back. The deck was perfect for my mother in law to enjoy the beach without going down the stairs. We are already talking about our next stay. "

"We had two injuries from broken glass in the house. One was an adult stepping on glass from the basement area. The other one was a two year old cutting his foot on the coffee table that has a crack in it. That one requires a hospital visit and stitches. The railing for the deck is rotted so it sways which makes it unsafe. We also found fake finger nails in one of the beds. The view was amazing, we got to see lots of whales and the house itself was great. With some better cleaning and updates to the table top and railing it would have been that much better. "

"The house is getting tired, we have rented for years there. Chipped paint inside and out, toilet running & mold behind lid, toilet handle, Repair man had to come first hour there, Double Mattress downstairs needs to be replaced. Just needs some TLC but we love the house."

"This was our 3rd annual girls weekend with our mom. Thank you for the use of your home it was great and the view was spectacular. The weather didn't cooperate for using your large deck and chairs so we'll be back. The kitchen was well stock for all our cooking needs and bedrooms were all very nice. "Our group had a wonderful time at this property. We stayed over new years and the beach was pretty empty, save a few dogs and morning walkers. If you have kids they will love the tide pools. The rental pictures don't do the view justice, and we were definitely surprised by how much space we had. Definitely thinking about coming back again. No complaints! Just remember to bring your own speakers if you enjoy music in the house."

"What a fantastic weekend! Sooo relaxing to visit with friends and soak in hottub and watch whales play in front of the house. "The house was very nice. The only thing was all the stairs...getting too old for those! Great view, if it wasn't so foggy. We had some trouble getting the TV to work. Always seems to be an issue an any beach house. Not sure why it has to be so complicated. Loved all the windows."

"Our family; 4-ages 16-18, 4-ages 21-25, 2-ages over 45 :) and 2 new babies. We stayed Thur-Sun in Sept. The home had an amazing deck with stunning views. It was clean although not ready at 3pm. Cleaner finally left at 330 with a few items undone. Towels and linen supply were good, the basement was very musty. So much so we went and bought air freshener. The kitchen was extremely small, no counter space, stove was in an awkward location and it was poorly stocked. Ie; no basic seasonings. Everything worked properly. The 2 upstairs rooms were very stuffy. Even with windows open. Ceiling fans or at least box fans would help. The ping pong table was nice but in a tight, odd space in the basement. The property description should better describe the very steep and long stairs to access the beach. We were aware because of other reviews. They were a great workout but hard with babies and beach supplies. The beach area is amazing! We enjoyed our trip but probably won't rent this location again due to the home having a lot of stairs and next year our grandbabies will be toddlers."

"This was our second stay at Pirates Lookout. We came back because it has a really great view and a good layout for couples. The double living spaces makes it nice for having a couple of spaces for people to gather. We really like that we all fit at the large dining table. The kitchen is tight, so we can only have a couple people in there at a time. The view is really amazing and we love the expansive deck and seating. The hot tub is a nice touch, although we feel it's too small for this size of house. It will fit 3-4 people and our group this time was six, but the house will easily accommodate 4 couples with extra beds in the basement if needed for kiddos. It's quite a trek down to the beach, but basically private once you get down there. We really enjoyed our stay. Would have loved to have had some movie channels available on the TV and the board games are in quite disarray. "

"Pirate's Lookout was perfect for our party of 9: 6 adults, 3 teens. Kitchen was tight for multiple chefs, but it worked out fine. The two living rooms were great. The kids played ping pong many times, and enjoyed having their own place to hang out. The hot tub was perfect. The deck was amazing; that alone was worth the rental. We spent each afternoon just hanging out on the deck in the adirondack chairs, looking at the ocean. We walked down the steep stairs to the beach (and hopped down the last 4 ft) to go skimboarding and walking. The ladder back up to the stairs was easy; no one struggled. The beds were not the most comfortable, but that's typical of any rental - no bed is as good as your own! Overall, it was a great time and we would rent Pirate's Lookout again. "

"The beach house was perfect for the 10 people (8 adults & 2 children) in our party. The deck was spectacular. Very large, a great view, very nice condition. The interior was just like the photos. Very clean. Well decorated. The stairs leading down to the beach were challenging but this was alluded to in the description of the property. A great experience. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The large TV in the family room did not work. The owner came out then called the cable co. to resolve the problem. They came out but were unable to fix the TV"

"I recently rented Pirates Lookout for a long weekend getaway for my sister and me and our 6 children ages 7 through 14. All of us were impressed with the home, from the amazing views and comfortable living space to the unbeatable beach access. We enjoyed some of the best tidepool viewing we’ve ever done, just steps from the beach stairs! Aside from time at the house, we enjoyed hiking at Drift Creek Falls and surf lessons, too. We found the home clean and well stocked with kitchen ware, towels and paper products. One of my favorite things was enjoying the sunset from the Adirondack chairs on glass protected deck. Some evenings required a blanket, but there were plenty to be found. We would absolutely recommend the home to others."

"Party of five, stayed seven nights. The views from both inside (upper two floors) and the deck were terrific with plenty of space for our group. The nearly private beach access (though understandably steep) was great to have. We did not use the hot tub. Response to an urgent repair issue we had was very prompt and well-handled. Lower level was a bit musty so we didn't utilize it as had been originally intended. There were no screens in most windows, so we ended up buying our own temps locally to provide bug-free cross- ventilation. Kitchen was small but functional, though it would have been helpful to have known in advance of the reservation that cooking fish/shellfish was prohibited. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much, with a good possibility of returning in the future. "

"The deck is amazing and it makes the house. When I first walked in I was a little confused about the layout. There are three levels, a bed and bath on the main floor with the kitchen, two living rooms, and door to the deck. There are two bedrooms with a bath upstairs, and the game room/garage is in the basement, along with the laundry room and the fourth “bedroom” (the one with the queen bed and two twins). I say all this because I hadn’t realized the layout of the house and it wasn’t the best, in my opinion. However, the deck makes up for everything. It was perfect for the week and the private beach access is stellar. The kitchen is a little small but it was supplied with most of what you will need, lots of flatwear, and utensils. "

"Overall a great experience. We had a family get together. 8 people. The views were magnificent and the beach being close was great. We appreciated that all bedrooms had at least a queen bed. The dual living rooms provided space for our family and the extra long dining room table was great for not only eating as a group but playing cards and board games as well. My two disappointments were the small size of the hot tub - and the useless outdoor charcoal grill - which was too small, old, dirty, filled with ash, and rusty. I reported this and no solution was offered."

We even saw a pod of what we think were Orcas feeding all one afternoon. They were just out a shot distance from the beach right in front of the deck! "Fantastic! We didn't even leave the house accept to walk on the beach. Whales, oh so many whales, were frolicking just outside the surf. Pelicans, puffins, cormorants, in abundance. Can't beat the view from this deck. House is big and bright. Lots of room to spread out. Beds could maybe be updated. 2 were really soft (saggy) and 1 was a bit hard. We didn't stay in the basement, so don't know about those. Furniture on main level was great! Very comfy. Everything was clean, too! I would definitely recommend this to my friends! "

Excellent home and service

"Our family stayed 5 nights and would have loved to stay another 5. What a great location, very quiet but very close to everything in Lincoln City. The whole family loved mornings in the tide pools, afternoons on the beach and evenings on the deck. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and the home is well stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner every night. A-1 Rentals was wonderful to work with. I thought I had lost some jewelry and they followed up repeatedly. In an age of COVID, they did an excellent job of cleaning and communicating with us. We have rented all over the world and A1 was by far the best!"

Great time for 3 generations

"Pirate's Lookout was just as we expected. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the deck provided spectacular views. The stairs to the beach are definitely long but even my 85 year old father in law made several trips down and back. This is the second A1 property we have rented and again we were pleased. "

Worked Great for us!

"We stayed at Pirates Lookout for a week in early May. This particular house worked perfect for us. We had to couples and two single women. The two bedrooms with the shared bathroom on the top floor were perfect for the two singles. One couple used the main floor bedroom and the other used the basement bedroom. Kitchen was a little small but we mostly did breakfast and a light snack in the evening. Our main meal was often at lunch when we were out enjoying the beauty of the Oregon Coast. The deck and the hot tub were wonderful. Even in May (when weather might not be optimal) we were able to sit on the deck and watch the whales. The plexiglass created a great wind barrier. The steps to get to the beach number over 90 and are fairly steep. For most of our group it was not a problem but I would not recommend the house for anyone with mobility issues who would like to get to the beach. Thanks we had a great time."
