"The house was spacious and has a great view with access to the beach. But it was a bit dirty. The appliance and sink were and bathrooms were not cleaned well. The parking was limited but with our two cars we made it work. The street parking and home was also not super accessible for my elderly disabled mother and sister who used a cane. But we made it work. "

"This was our 40th year vacationing with family in Lincoln City and our 16th year at the Shoreline Chateau. We could not find a better place and would not think of renting anyplace else.
Everything about this home is top notch, from the location, the space, and all the amenities.
We had a problem with the water heater (no ones fault) and the response time to investigate and fix was under 30 minutes. The folks at A1 rental are so friendly and accommodating and provide First Class Service.
We love this place and treat it as if it was our own home.
I have traveled many places in the US and Europe and this is, by far, my favorite place to be!
Going back for year 17 in 2024 (already have booked)

"Everything about this house is perfect. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was no smell. Then we took a couple more steps and saw the amazing view. House is much bigger than it appears in the pictures. Easy walk to the beach. During low tide, we went to the black rocks and explored the tide pools. My family had such a great time. The hot tub and sunset were amazing. We could have stayed here for another week. "

Hot tub was brand new, in excellent condition and was ready to go upon checkin which we appreciated. The absolutely best part(s) of this was the private beach access and the view from the living room. Amazing. For larger groups, this would be perfect as the rooms are well spread out. Bed in the master was adequate and comfortable. Bathrooms were both new-ish, renovated in the last few years. Kitchen was extremely well stocked. 3 of everything you would need. James from the A1 team was a huge asset during our stay, communicated well, and went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. "

"We stayed at the beach for our moms 72nd birthday. This house was perfect for my family. My brother and his girlfriend had the downstairs bedroom. My parents had the upstairs ocean view. 7yr old had the room next to my parents and my husband and I enjoyed the back bedroom. The upstairs kitchenette was so convenient! 20 steps down to the beach was incredible! We had a blast playing cards at the dining room table with the ocean crashing next to us.
The only negatives were the loud and drunken renters next door, and one of our vehicles had a tire slashed. House was perfect for us. The kite shop Wind driven is a must! The owners are so friendly and helpful! We love mo's for chowder and bread. The 60s Cafe on roads end is our newest find and so dang good! "

Parking is a little tight, but we made it! Just a couple minutes drive to stores.. Roberts Bookshop in Lincoln City is amazing!! Jam-packed with “treasures” for everyone:) and after a day spent exploring Boiler Bay, Devils Churn, Devils Punchbowl or even just strolling on the beach, Gracie’s Sea-Hag in Depoe Bay is the place to stop and eat!;) and if the weather is agreeable, the deep sea fishing and whale watching tours in Depoe Bay are tops! Oh, and the Alder House glass-blowing shop just out of Lincoln City~ so very fascinating to watch the beautiful pieces that emerge from the roaring hot fire!! Would definitely recommend this place!!"

"I've rented several houses thru A-1 Beach Rentals. This is my least favorite. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, etc. The carpet throughout the house is old, very dirty from years of use & needs to be replaced. The courtyard leading up to the back door was dirty so it was hard not to track the dirt into the house. The laundry facilities are in the garage so that was a real inconvenience when doing laundry. The garage was 'tiny' & a very tight squeeze for a regular size SUV. No other parking available for this property. The last four steps to the beach have no railing which is dangerous & then there are two large rocks before you step on the beach. All in all - quite disappointing. "

The parking is tough on the oceanfront at some Roads End Beach Houses. One car in the garage and 2 cars outside parallel parked is max. Thanks for the feedback on the stairs to the beach and the courtyard needing cleaning. I'm on it and will either fix myself or report to the owners . They work hard to keep up with maintenance issues and also make sure amenities & supplies are the best.

"Loved the location! Beautiful view and easy accessibility to the beach. Going in the hot tub to view the sunset over the waves was awesome. The house itself was very funky - dried flowers and ivy on the walls, painted bricks, plastic lamps, very old kitchen cabinets, low ceilings. I would be willing to pay up for a nicer house. But the location can't be beat and the beds were comfortable and everything generally functional. Staff was helpful and responsive."

"Price was right. Views and beach access was OUTSTANDING. House is dated, but furniture and bathrooms looked newer. There was a fragrance that we did not like and assuming it was to mmask the musty smell older beach homes have. Fully stocked kitchen but could use more kitchen towels and washcloths. Plenty of dish soap dishwasher tablets. Hot water held up for 4 adults and 4 children. Plenty of room for all of us. Wifi was very good, but no cell service. There is a land line. Quiet with easy access to beach. Kids had a blast! Adults enjoyed the deck chairs and the stunning ocean view. Parking tight, but manageable."

"My wife, 3 kids and I really enjoyed storm watching and hot tubing at this beautiful home. The beach was great for rock hunting, with sand not far away.
The home was much larger than I expected, with plenty of room for additional guests, although we kept it to ourselves. The kitchen was stocked very well, probably better than any other rental I have ever stayed at. We needed a propane refill for the BBQ and the property manager had a new tank delivered within an hour. Great service and a great home. We will visit again!"

"Just happened to time our stay with the Snowpocalypse in Portland, so we were glad to be at the beach!. House is a bit unique in florrplan and decor, but was well equipped (kitchen) and an awesome location right on the beach with steps to the sand. Parking is by far the biggest issue, but 3 cars work well. They told us to park at the casino if we had a 3rd car, but we just had 3. Nice weekend all in all. If our 4th couple had made it, the 4thbedroom was a walk-thru with one if the others, so keep that in mind if you need more than 3 bedrooms. "

"Although the house is showing its age in places, it's a wonderful house for a large family or group of friends. It's right on the beach and has all the amenities. Unfortunately, at the time of our visit we found the downstairs bedroom unusable because of the mildew odor. Also, prior guests reported that the dryer didn't work and it appears it was still broken. The only other annoyance was the fact that it takes a Philadelphia lawyer to figure out how to work the TVs. We never did figure out how to watch TV upstairs. Better instructions are in order for non-techie people. "

"Our family of 8 was very comfortable during our October stay and we had beautiful weather! Several people were able to work/do remote school and the wifi held up well. There was plenty of space for everyone and we had no complaints. If you stay here, don't miss the walk to the tide pools at the north end of the beach during low tide. Parking is tight. We fit a minivan near the street and a small car in the garage. I don't know if more than that could have fit. Hopefully we'll stay here again some day!"

"We had a great beach get away with immediate family to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The place was great; beach access couldn't be better. Grand kids had never been to an ocean beach before. They had a blast. The pandemic limited outside visits to places like the aquarium and light house but the tide pools were great. One morning we were able to walk around Roads End Point to find an enchanting rock garden on the other side. This is not an elegant high end place, but it is very comfortable and family friendly."

"We loved this little Chateau - it had everything we needed to make the perfect OR beach getaway. We loved having back door access to the beach and amazing views from the comfort of our couch during the rainy parts of the day. Our kids loved the hot tub. Beds were comfy and there was enough room for our family of 5 kids. "

"This was our 11th year staying at Shoreline Chateau. We were finally together after many uncertain months.The house is so quaint and comfortable, our family loves it. We had unbelievable weather and saw gorgeous sunsets. We walked to the tidepools, saw bald eagles and throughout the weekend saw whales spouting. A much needed celebration we will remember forever. "Very enjoyable! Comfortable! Beautiful view and Weather "

"Don’t let your choice be detoured by the “vintage” look of this home. It was above expectation when we arrived. Here are the pro’s & cons.

Cons:
1) parking is rough, says three cars but when you drive two full size trucks it there wasn’t any room for 3
2) the garage only fits a small car, like a Honda for example.
3) hot tub breaker popped - we located and turned back on.
4) small kitchen but we managed

Pros:
1) beach access was the best on the beach, secure and safe for kids
2) hot tub was clean and hot at 104 - except you can’t control the jets.
3) so much room upstairs for kids to have their own area
4) beds are actually comfortable
5) clean
6) awesome gas bbq that worked well

We have this one as one of our favorites on the Oregon Coast.

"We have been vacationing with family for 36 years. This was our 11th year at the Shoreline Chateau. We LOVE this place. Right on the beach (few stairs), phenomenal views. Comfortable beach house with many amenities (hot tub, gas grill, wonderful gas fireplace, kitchen fully equipped, comfortable beds, washer and dryer, etc.) We love this place like it was our own! Very clean. Dealing with Karen S. Property manager is wonderful, she could not be any nicer or more accommodating. We absolutely love the time with our family, this is the PERFECT getaway!"

"My sister and I took our daughters for a mother daughter vacation. The house was great! And the location was amazing! We loved our stay! The house was clean and comfortable. The only problem we had was that the dryer did not work. You tend to pack a little less when you know that you can wash your clothes! Other than that we had a great time!"

"Wonderful beachfront property with amazing views. Great deck with rocking chairs, hot tub and small yard to play. Equipped with everything you could need including some extra sand toys! Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids) had a wonderful time in this home. Would give it 5 stars but the dryer was broken. Beware- broken dryer has been listed in multiple previous reviews. They give you the option of having someone come pick up your laundry but we chose to go to the laundromat for convenience and because it was personal items. Not sure they have any intention of actually fixing the dryer. Other than that small inconvenience it was a great house and we would recommend it for its location and overall appeal."

"The house was a great size and comfortably fit 8 of us. We had an amazing time! LOTS of kitchen utensils and tools! There was even 2 griddles for breakfast making! We cooked meals with ease in this house. Also the views....Perfect. The hot tub was warm and inviting. The beds were very very comfy, sheets were super soft and everything was decently clean (saw some dust on the tv area up stairs)! Only bummer was the dryer was broken and no one warned us so we washed clothes and ended up taking them to a laundry mat. Although when we called they offered to come get them and dry them else where we just chose not to as they were personal belongings. We plan to be back!"

"Private access to beach as seen in photos. House seems to be well maintained and was cleaned upon arrival. We have 5 adults and 3 children in our party. The kitchen is very well stocked with just about any utensil or appliance you will need, so if you plan to do a lot of cooking in, this is a good place. Nice propane grill outside as well. The house also has some board games, puzzles, and a few beach toys available.

Clothes Dryer was not working during our stay but property managers did offer to pick up clothes, dry and fold, and bring back. Difficult to get a phone signal inside the house. Had to go to road or down on beach to get a signal (wifi works great). This could be a good thing to those wanting to relax."

"The house was in a great location. It was quirky and outdated, but it had everything we needed and plenty of space. The couches were new and comfy, and so were the beds. The parking leaves a lot to be desired. You basically can’t fit anything but small cars. Our mid-size SUVs would not fit in the garage. Only one would fit in front. It was less than ideal. "

"Nicely maintained and comfortable. The upstairs could have been designed as a separate space with a master bedroom, Queen room, and etwins. You have to walk through the room with 3 twins to access the Queen room. 1 bathroom up.
Downstairs has Queen + daybed and a walk in shower. There is a step down from the living room to the dining room and deck exit.
We enjoyed our stay here- it was clean and kitchen was well stocked."

"Our tenth wonderful year at the Shoreline Chateau (our 35th year vacationing with family in Lincoln City). The house is phenomenal, stairs to the glorious beach. All the comforts of home, beautifully decorated and comfotably furnished. Exquisitely comfortable beds. Watching beautiful sunsets, long walks on the beach, whale watching, sharing meals with family, falling asleep hearing the ocean roar, what could be better. The rental management folks, especially Karen Scrutton, could not be any friendlier or accommodating. WE LOVE THIS HOME! Can’t wait until next year! "

"We had a fantastic stay! The amount of rooms was perfect for our party of four adults and two kids. Being right on the beach was great. The kids played on the sand and flew kites by day and we built a bonfire at night. The provided kitchen utensils and cooking equipment was great for what we did for meals. The only thing I'd critique is the parking. It's very tight and on a steep angle. The garage door broke the first day we were there and we had to use it manually for the length of our stay. The management company sent someone out right when it was reported, but he couldn't fix it and it remained broken for the next couple of days. Minor inconvenience. Overall the location and house were great."

"We had a lovely stay at Shoreline Chateau. The house was a good size for us but can fit a larger family. The weather didnt always cooperate but the large windows with unobstructed views of the oceans meant you could savor the view without being out in the cold or wetness. Steps down to the beach means easy access for long beach walks and the hot tub was a bonus for gloomy days. Management was very responsive and dealt promptly with the issue we had. The house is well looked after and had plenty of dishware and utensils. Do be aware that you may not have cell phone reception inside the house like us but the wi-fi is stable and strong. Would definitely stay again."

Love this house

"We had a large party of 8 and it fit us very comfortably. The beds were very comfy and sheets were soooo soft I had a hard time getting out of bed each morning! The kitchen has every utensil and gadget you could need. Really came in handy when cooking for 8! The house was clean and proper. The views were amazing and the private beach access was nice. The hot tub was perfect! The dryer was broken and we were not aware of that before arrival so that was an inconvenience but they did offer to come get the clothes and dry them else where! We all agreed we will be back! "
