Join the Fun at Lincoln City’s 4th of July Celebration

Yacoov Bergman, the Artistic Director of the Siletz Bay Music Festival, has curated a wonderful 2-week program of chamber, vocals, big band and full orchestra music from June 20^th to July 4^th. Many performances will take place at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, but a variety of music events will be hosted at other venues around Lincoln City as well. It all culminates with the “Sweet Land of Liberty” Festival Orchestra at Salishan Spa and Golf Resort on the 4^th of July.

Pixie Fest

The Bijou Theatre continues its Saturday Morning Cinema series on May 26^th with the 1939 film “They Made Me A Criminal” at 11 AM for only $2. The classic movie stars John Garfield as a boxer on the run after being accused of murder, who finds himself at a working farm where he meets The Dead End Kids. The theatre will also host a special Memorial Day Summer Morning Matinee with the beloved 1991 animated film “An American Tail 2” at 11 AM for $2.

May Goings-On in Lincoln City, Oregon

Crabbing, Clamming, Tide-Pooling & Beachcombing Clinics

Looking for a hands-on experience of the ocean? One of these clinics is definitely for you! The Coastal Encounters crabbing clinic with Bill Lackner starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Driftwood Public Library on May 1^st and 15^th, while the clamming clinic starts with a lecture at the same library at 10 a.m. on May 30^th followed by a trip to Siletz Bay for clamming. The Tide Pool Clinic will starts= at the NW 15th Street Beach Access at 11 a.m. on May 5^th, 8:30 a.m. on May 16^th & 17^th and at 9:30 a.m. on May 19^th. Last but not least, the Coastal Encounters Beachcombing 101 clinic with author Kay Myers starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Driftwood Public Library on May 22^nd.

Cooking Classes at the Culinary Center in Lincoln City

If you love preparing and eating fine food, perhaps a cooking class at Lincoln City’s Culinary Center is the ideal way for you to spend a day. The center often hosts cooking classes from 11 a.m. to 2p.m. on Saturdays for a set $75 fee including a meal and drinks at the end. May is a particularly amazing time to be in Lincoln City because this is the final month of the Finders Keepers on the Beach season when “float fairies” drop colorful glass floats made by local artists along the coast every day.
