"The only thing is we had 8 people but there were only 6 chairs at the table, luckily I found two folding chairs in the garage. The steep driveway caused me to get a scrape on my bumper as it was so hard to see at night. I guess my fault but you really should put up a large light that would flood the driveway when a car is trying to get out of the drive way and get parked. Otherwise the property was gorgeous and the Lady (named Linda) at the agency was a very nice Lady and helpful!"

"We loved the location of the house. Saw lots of whale spouts every day, saw seals, surfers, and of course, the ever faithful seagull. The stairs to each level were a challenge for my arthritic body. I wish the description of the house had included that fact. Other than that it was awesome."

"We had a fairly good stay at the home. When we arrived, there was an old home smell to the house but we got used to it. The hot tub was broke down the entire stay so we were refunded $30. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes well and we came into the home with a load we had to empty and wash by hand. The rugs and potholders had not been cleaned for awhile so I cleaned those during our stay and did not receive an answer as to how often the comforters are cleaned. We had a couple of spiders - not too unexpected for the area. Beach access is not easy, but my husband and son visited the fairly quiet beach several times. The beds were comfortable and the view is outstanding. We didn’t use the outdoor decks or furniture due to the weather. We loved the ability to dim the lights in the main space and that we could park inside the garage. The oven was clean and it and the microwave worked well for cooking. The pots, pans, and cooking utensils are a mish mash of unlatching sets and there was no doubles of anything making it a little harder to cook several things when you have a family that cannot all eat the same foods. The furniture was comfy but very worn down and one of the swivel chairs was broken. Rooms are small but have good storage. Bring hangars because there are not enough for a several day stay with all rooms filled. The fireplace is a nice touch and we used it in the mornings with our coffee (which the brewer was also full when we arrived). I spoke to management about our experience and they refunded me 1/2 my cleaning fee. It needs more attention to cleaning the food and high touch surfaces, so if you like a clean place like me, bring your own supplies. With a good wipe down, touch up paint, better paper products and toiletries, this would’ve been a five star home for me. Oh and the breaker went out for the heat and it has a very sensitive septic system. Management was very nice and listened to our concerns, however I feel it is overpriced. "

We rent rentals frequently; this is my new favorite, specifically because of the extraordinary view. Beach access is an easy walk away. If you have people in your group who cannot do stairs, this would not be the property for you. But I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you don't have that limitation. "This house is absoluty perfect! Until the alarm went off for the sewer pump. The alarm was down in the garage. I personally diagnosed where the sound was coming from.. And James and his wife came over and tried to fix the problem. I am concerned that I was charged $180 for a a cleaning fee... There were towels in the dryer and greasy pots and pans in the cupboards.. Their COVID cleaning procedures need to be addressed!"

Manager Response: Happy to have you stay again. Cleaner sometimes will have to leave towels in dryer, they take a long time to wash and dry. Waiting for them to dry may result in guests not being able to check in on time.

"The house has a good open floor plan and lots of space to spread out. Get ready for a leg work out because with 3 stories you will be climbing a lot of stairs. It’s also a hilly trek to the beach and the access is not accessible for small children or anyone who can’t climb on rocks. The house could have been cleaner and there were a few things needing attention like broken blinds, a wobbly dining chair, rust on pots and pans, etc. there was no cleaning supplies for the kitchen like sanitizing wipes or a bleach spray to use on counters after cooking and only exactly 4 garbage bags and 4 dishwashing pods for our 4 days. With CoVId I would have liked to see more focus on cleanliness. I was horrified when I stripped the bed on the last day to find a mattress cover and pillows covered in stains. If you arrive at night be prepared to get lost on the gravel road to the house. "

"We stayed for four nights with my parents and my boyfriend’s mom plus our two children. We had a little trouble finding the house because it was dark and maps took us to the lower road. The written directions are in the description in the email but may need to be pointed out as we missed them. I tried calling and had a hard time getting ahold of someone due to lack of cell service. Once I got a bar and called it was easily found with her directions. The house itself is amazing and the view was perfect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a high chair in the garage and it was a huge help. The notebook in the living room mentioned Frederick the seagull and he did not disappoint. My kids loved looking for him every morning. My baby now calls all seagulls Frederick. The kitchen dishes were very well stocked. All the beds were super comfy and so were some of the pillows. We will definitely look at this as an option next time we head to Lincoln City. "

"A lovely home overlooking the ocean, you can't bet the view. The interior is bright white wood with high ceilings, very open and spacious feeling. A rental property reaches a point where it needs down time for some TLC, I think we rented during this time. The storm door out to the deck was janky, needs to be replaced, the can lights over the dinning table never worked, half the ceiling speakers didn't work, the light bulb was burnt out in the refrig & microwave. If you are going to cook for more than 4 people bring your own fry pans. They did have an electric griddle that helped with making breakfast. Upon arrival, I was a little put out by a note left by the cleaning person asking us to basically wash and dry All the sheets and towels before departing and putting them back into the bedrooms. My question, why are we paying a cleaning fee if we are asked to do most of the work? We followed the instructions that were given to us from the rental agency: we washed and dried a full load of towels and started a second load of sheets. The house truly is lovely."

"Lovely home with spectacular views of the ocean and shore. Spacious kitchen and island, comfy living area with large windows and super views, very nice deck space and great hot tub, comfy beds, clean bathrooms - overall the space had what we needed and everything worked as stated. While the beach is literally below the house, it was a bit of a hike to get there, and a slightly precarious final section of loose rock (maybe 15 feet) before reaching the sand (probably difficult for elderly). Once on the shore - it was amazing, especially at low tide: profusion of purple and orange starfish, bright blue-green sea anemone - better than any aquarium IMO. The house was generally clean, though the main floor could have been better swept. Overall it was a great space for my family of 4 (two adults, two teens) and we had an excellent time."

Regarding the beach access, yes, it is rocky and difficult for some and once on the sand, this stretch of beach is hard to beat with its tide pools, and no crowds..there are beach accesses both north and south; north is a short walk or both can be driven to, park, and easy walk to sand. "Our experience was wonderful. Just beware that if anyone in your party has mobility issues, this house will be difficult for them. You need to climb stairs to the main level, and also to any bedrooms. "

"Five women who graduated from high school 53 years ago reunited to spend 4 delightful days together! The house location was perfect for beach walking, outlet mall shopping, restaurant going and neighboring town exploring. With 3.5 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms, we each felt we had enough privacy. The living area is perfect for late night catch-up conversations. The kitchen is well supplied and allowed us to have long leisurely breakfasts and lunches together. I’ve stayed in this property several times over the last decade and it has been very well maintained, including the hot tub. The only problems included one blind that would not go up and down in the twin bedroom in the basement, the soap dispenser in the diswasher would not close and the was one light out in the half bathroom. All in all , we highly recommend this beautiful home."

"As a family we truly enjoyed ourselves at the Seabird Cottage. It was everything we wanted for our vacation. The home is located fairly high on a cliff, however, it is well protected by railings. We had our 1 year old daughter with us so we wanted to make sure we were comfortable with her in this space and it was ideal. We loved that Seabird Cottage had children's necessities (beach toys, high chair and towels). The bedrooms were very clean and roomy! Having access to the laundry made the stay very comfortable (again, property managers have all the essentials available for laundry). The hot tub overlooking the ocean was very well used during our stay. The neighbors were quiet and friendly. The kitchen had everything we needed (it may benefit from a few large fry pans).

The views were absolutely breathtaking! Sleeping to the waves crashing outside of your windows is an experience that will never be forgotten. The beach below the property is very clean and quiet. I must say my father thoroughly enjoyed speculating the large wall sized world map home has on display! Overall, the decor of the house makes the home feel homey and livable. The best space was hanging out in the living room/kitchen it was really a special space for a family reunion! We plan to be back again soon!"

"House was adequate for size, way too many stairs. I guess that’s why you have the amazing views. Needs new pans and cooking utensils, everything was peeling and melted, very bad to use pans like that. Baby birds were in the chimney driving us all nuts but better than having people in the house for hours trying to get them out. I’m sure the cleaning crew will hear them. "

"We come here once a year to celebrate the memory of my mom. Sight seeing, gambling, shopping and beach time is the best. Love the location and the house is absolutely amazing. Plenty of room to sew, craft, eat and the floor to ceiling windows are amazing.
I would only suggest a coffee maker that turns off automatically."

"I rented this home for my elderly parents, myself and my adult kids. All together 6 of us for 4 nights at the house. It was classic Oregon coast weather to be expected. The home itself was totally perfect. Amazing views, well stocked with dishes and cookware. We stayed in and had Thanksgiving in April. We did puzzles and board games. Both are well stocked but missing pieces and not updated or checked on in a long time. The walk to the beach is steep and a little rocky the last 15’ of the decent. The driveway is super steep and you should park inside garage.

Very nice home. Very nice cleansing breath for all involved. "

"There were 5 of us ladies getting together for our annual Girls Gone MILD getaway. This is all about unplugging, relaxation, connecting, laughter and good food. The Seabird was ideal for our get together! We loved the open kitchen and living room with awesome ocean views! We played games on the large kitchen table, cooked delicious meals in the well supplied kitchen and each found quiet places to sit for reading or reflecting. The hot tub produced many great conversations and was used daily. It was pretty warm (maximum 104 degrees) although we all thought it would have been nice if it was a little hotter. We walked the beach to coffee at Pacific Grind and went across the street from there to Rejuvenation Spa for the best massages we have ever had! The ONLY complaint we had was the downstairs bedroom with the two twin beds was dirty. The carpet had not been vacuumed for awhile and there were spider webs and spiders throughout the room. It was also very dusty. We put in a maintenance order asking that it please be cleaned for it seemed like it has been overlooked for some time. The Hospitality App was very convenient for reporting maintenance issues as well as having all the information regarding this rental at our fingertips. There was quite the miscommunication regarding the cleaning of the basement bedroom. First maintenance showed up with a web cleaner thinking that was all that was needed. We just decided to clean it ourselves using the web cleaner, and a available vacuum. A1 Rentals called us regarding the bedroom which we appreciated but we had already solved the issue. Still, at approximately 2pm, a cleaning lady shows up at the door for the bedroom. We again stated it was already taken care of. It just seemed like they may have been trying so hard to resolve the maintenance issue they received through the Hospitality App they forgot to communicate to each other what the other was doing that they were stumbling over each other."

"This was a great place for the four of us. Plenty of room for the chef, we each had our own bedroom and bathrooms. The house was clean well-kept, you need to bring your own groceries and spices Etc. But overall a great experience wonderful light and Airy. Close to everything we wanted to do."

"We had a group of 6 staying at this home in late June. We loved the amazing kitchen/living area with views of the ocean from every window. And also the views from the deck area. We used the jacuzzi each day we were there as well. Plenty of space for a group of 6-8 adults. The owners/A-1 Beach Rentals were very quick to replace a stove that had an oven quit working - they contacted us Tuesday morning, before we arrived to the property, to let us know the oven had died. They ordered a brand new stove and it was installed on Thursday, and because we didn’t have an oven for 1.5 days, they provided us a BBQ grill to use. We appreciated their attention to the situation and trying to provide us an alternative while the stove was being replaced. The property was very clean and cared for. "

"Seabird Cottage was perfect for our family of 7 and just as described on the website. The views were stunning and the layout of the house was ideal. Had one question while there and A1 was quick to respond. Upon arrival, we were a bit surprised by how small the two TVs were - but we never turned them on!
Highlights outside the home included hikes to Cascade Head (amazing view and well worth it - just a tad difficult on the way in. 7 year-old daughter moaned a bit on the way up, had a blast on the way down) and Drift Creek Falls (favorite activity of the week for 50% of our group), pontoon boat on Devil's Lake for 2 hours, kite flying on the beach, and tide pools at both the Yaquina Lighthouse and Roads End (both must dos.)
View was so beautiful we cooked in most nights. Picked up Bay Thai one night and it was very good. Had lunch at Tidal Waves - the view and food were excellent."

We saw a whale breach twice right in front of the house along with seals and our daily visitor the gull that we fed cheerios to several times a day....he was always waiting for us! It was also a perfect location for day trips up and down the coast. We really hope to return again. "

"We come here every year for our girls beach weekend and just love this place. It is always clean and ready for us. We love the beautiful windows that give us a gorgeous view.
Granite countertops and a huge table we can all eat at. Hot tubbing while it sunsets is amazing.
We also set up sewing machines in front of the huge windows and quilt. This IS our go to place to stay! ❤️"

"Beautiful home with fantastic views, however we had to check out a day early due to two windows leaking with blowing rain coming into the house. The fireplace was not working as it should."

Manager Response: Sorry about the couple of leaks around 2 new windows. We did have the most rain we've had in a 24 hr period all year and 50-60 mph gusts. Should not have disturbed your stay since the house is big and has a nice open floor plan. Jim came right away and set the fireplace on low and left it on for your enjoyment. Owners work hard to protect their beautiful beach home and keep everything Tip Top! I'm sure that leak during heavy rain and high winds was an isolated event but owners will assess carefully. Fireplace needed only a pilot cleaning. Got it all ready for the next guests. Hope to see you again.

The grandkids (from Colorado) get so excited they start counting down the days till arrival weeks ahead. The house has recently had maintenance, is well equipped with kitchen appliances, and has a view that simply can’t be beat.

"Seabird delivered once again - and was even a little better than before! This time, many items were well stocked (paper towels, dish detergent, foil, Saran Wrap) - not sure if the previous renters just kindly left their stock (as we did last time), or if those items are routinely stocked now, but it made our stay that much more enjoyable.
The house was clean and ready for us, and other than a minor thing we didn’t care about at the time, everything was working. I appreciate there is a number for questions/concerns posted right on the fridge, and the people who answer are very pleasant.
My only issue is actually the mattresses ... but it may just be that my mattress at home is exceptionally comfortable. The springy mattresses cause my back (and my husband’s) to ache and it’s the only detail keeping us from booking week-long stays here. Of course I’d love tempurpedic mattresses, but Seabird is AMAZING even without them! ��"

A house you never want to leave

"My family and I which included myself, my husband, my 2 and 8 year old boys, my mother, and my grandmother all stayed at this home for 5 nights. We loved every minute of it. The house is breathtaking and the view of the ocean is unmatched. I really had a hard time saying goodbye to this house. I was up making coffee by 7am every day and making use of the media room to do my workouts. A resident seagull visited us several times each day which was a lot of fun and we my kids made use of the hot tub frequently. Our only real issue was the steep path to get to the beach - it was very difficult for my grandmother to enjoy the beach without driving to more accessible access areas and wasn’t a warning prior to booking the house. My other suggestion would be to have the twin beds upstairs vs downstairs as my 8 year old was too afraid to sleep on his own 2 floors down from us on the 3rd floor. Otherwise, a flawless visit and one I’ll remember for years to come."
