  As always, when we stay @ Pirate's Lookout, our experience was superb! It is such a beautiful, well appointed, homey home away from home.....truly the next best thing to actually owning our own beach house! It is always clean, and Karen and Gene are great! We find it to be a place of rest, renewal, and on some trips, reconnect with family we rarely get to be with. Our only complaint, and not a very serious one, is that there has always been sports to watch on TV in the evenings, and although it was the same time of year as our usual Spring stay, no sports! Have some of the channels been eliminated? Oh well.....who needs TV when you have the roar of ocean outside your window!?! Thanks to all involved with making our stay so perfect!

  Our number one desire was to rent a beach house with a great ocean view. Pirates Lookout went beyond any expectation in that respect. From the deck and the house you can see miles of beach, and the ocean is so close. Our second desire was easy beach access. What a treat it was to go down to the beach. The stairs were awesome and put us right on the beach close to rocks where we could hunt for rocks and shells. The house is older but very homey and welcoming. I loved the family room with the fireplace. The bedrooms upstairs are so cute, complete with wonderful window seats and front row view to the ocean. The deck is huge and has a great wind barrier. We loved this house as it fit all of our vacation desires. We will stay here again.

  The view was beautiful and the huge deck was very accommodating for our group. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We enjoyed the spacious living and family rooms and was able to do karaoke all together. Will probably book this house again next year.

  We very much enjoyed the views of the ocean from the rooms with windows that faced the western horizon. Even though it was 106 steps down to the beach + a short ladder at the very bottom, it was easy to negotiate for those in our party. We would certainly use this property again.

  When booking a stay at a vacation home you don't know exactly what to expect. Pirates Lookout was a pleasant surprise that exceeded our expectations! This spacious home allowed us to spread out and enjoy privacy. The basement was perfect for the kids, complete with a ping-pong table, the main floor had a large room with a flat-screen TV that was perfect for watching football, and there was a quieter living room on the other side of the home for reading or watching movies. There were bedrooms upstairs with windows in each room that provided a beautiful view of the ocean. The kitchen was fully equipped with plenty of dishes, cooking tools, and a balcony opening to the street side of the home. The deck on the ocean side of the home was gorgeous and quite large. Getting down to the beach took little effort with the set of stairs next to the home and coming back up wasn't so bad. There are a few places to stop and sit if you get tired. The only problem we encountered was the water heater. It didn't sufficiently provide enough water for the amount of people the house holds (and we had less than that). We enjoyed our time at Pirates Lookout and would definitely stay again in the future.

  It was perfect! As usual, we had a wonderful time @ Pirates Lookout. Thank you for allowing our brother and his girlfriend, who met us there from Calif. to have access ( with proper info to verify they were suppose to be allowed in) since they arrived before we did, and could not reach us by cell phone, for some reason. We sincerely hope the legislation does not go thru about banning the beach rental houses in Lincoln City! If it doesn't, we'll be seeing you in the Spring of 2012!   Our family Rendezvoused at the beach house. Deck freshly painted and fantastic views. House was nice and roomy. The stairs down to the beach were not bad since we all live about 6000'. We saw whales and huge waves. You could use a gas barbecue grill.

  Although we were a little worried about the stairs to the beach, they were not as difficult to deal with as anticipated. The bluff enabled us to wonderful views of the beach and sunsets! The house layout was PERFECT for the 4 children...who stayed in the
  large room in the basement that has the queen and 2 twins in one larger room. With the addition of their own TV and game tables in the area next to the bedroom, they referred to the space as their "kid cave!" The A-1 staff was wonderful to deal with and very
  helpful if we encountered a problem or had a question.

  This house was perect for our group of 8. The deck was the best part but the views from almost the entire main floor were also spectacular. I will say the game room (garage) needed to be cleared of lots & lots of cobwebs but the rest of the house was clean
  and nicely furnished. Although not a problem for anyone in our group it should be noted in the ad the at the end of the stairs there is a ladder for the last part.

  One of the best views on the coast. Lots of privacy and great location for tide pools. Don't let the stairs get in your way; they are no big deal. If you think there are too many you are too old.

  This is our second stay at the house and we just love it. There is plenty of room for guests to spread out and not feel cramped. We spend as much time as possible on the beautiful deck. The condition of the house is excellent and it was well stocked with everything that we needed. My only complaints would be the four car limit (difficult when you have five couples staying) and that there are no blinds on some of the windows (difficult at dinnertime and when putting babies to bed). Otherwise, it's absolutely perfect.

We have stayed in that home on 3 different trips, and loved it more with each visit. It's a great house for a couple of families to share, and it's a wonderful spot for a girls' getaway, too. Wish it was our own! In addition, the A-1 staff is FABULOUS to work with!

  This house is a great place to enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean. The space was very comfortable for 10 people, although the kitchen is small. The deck space was very enjoyable and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The 92 stairs and ladder to the sand/beach was a challenge for the youngest family members. We found no instructions on the use of the gas fireplace and never did get it to run.

The one ply bathroom tissue did not go over well with 8 ladies in the house for the weekend as you can imagine, the toilet on the main floor clogged with the first use but was fine after that. Yeah to the property manager who can with a new coffee pot in hand when the one there at the house was broken or missing the mesh filter. We needed the coffee we arrived in the middle of a storm. Kudoes to her!!! The house is always well cared for and clean, and the lay out works well for our group. We will be back next year and hope that there is 2 ply

  Pirate's Lookout was ideal for two families with a total of nine people. There were spaces for adults and kids and beach access was great. Despite the unending rain, the rock formations provided an every day outing to view the tidepools. The kids loved this. To have this activity so close to our lodgings was an unexptected bonus, particularly with the inclement weather.
  
  The house is well maintained and nicely updated for its age. We all found the beds comfortable and slept well. The guys loved the recliners that faced the view. We will stay there again.
  
  As the house is of an older vintage, there is no dedicated pantry. There is some cupboard space, however, we used plastic bins to store some of our food on the small balcony off of the kitchen. It worked very well.

  My five sisters and I stayed at Pirates Lookout in February this year and in March last year. We had such a wonderful, relaxing experience on both occasions! Even though the weather was somewhat chilly and rainy part of the time, it was great to sit in the roomy TV room and watch movies and talk and laugh with each other. There is plenty of room for sleeping all of us and for playing games and mingling.
  We got plenty of exercise walking the 111 steps down to the beach each day at low tide and looking for sea life and shells or taking a long walk on the sandy shore.

  Last year we stayed at one of their other houses - it was wonderful, but we thought it'd be fun to try another. Pirates Lookout tops anything I can imagine finding anywhere else. The rates are VERY competitive, the house was clean, cozy, and delightful for my daughters (who got the almost identical upper rooms with window seats). The view was to die for, and even being out on the deck was neat because the house to the south blocks the worst of the wind. If I were going to change anything, I'd have moved the more comfy furniture into the less formal living room where the fireplace is - that is where we spent all our time. The one couch wasn't all that comfy. Everything else was charming and fun - loved the fooseball - only a hot tub could complete the deal...thank you for a wonderful experience!

  Great house, great view. Steep stairs to beach. Plasma TV hooked up to cable but not to DVD/VCR. Lots of room to spread out. Close to our favorite used book store (Robert's). The wave at Nelscott Reef was not present when we stayed there. Wished it had been. We really liked this house and plan on staying again.

  With the three levels, lots of stairs for older folks, but we housed my mom and dad on the main floor and they were fine with this. The decking glass gets foggy but I cleaned it everyday to allow all the view to show through.

  Nice home with a beautiful view. Watched the whales in the distance; a seal napped on the beach right below the house; got to the beach early to observe the sea life in the reef; overall had a great stay!

  My family absolutely loved the place. We had the most amazing weather and the best view of sunsets I have ever seen. We loved the Pirate theme and dressed up for a final shot on the Deck. The view is breathtaking. I wish there was an elevator down to the beach, HaHa!!! After the second day our calves and thighs were so sore. 100+ stairs was worth it though. It was so peaceful and the kids loved being able to run down to the beach anytime. It was amazing and we plan to return. I would recommend this trip to all friends and family. I hope that someone finds the Fruit Stool. Thank you for an amazing week with my family. It is something we will never forget. We hope to return this year.

  Beautiful ocean-front view, with a huge deck. Nicely furnished house with several bedrooms. Large plasma TV on wall in living room. Although my stay was for only one day and night, I felt completely relaxed after enjoying this beautiful vacation rental.
